  • Palace located in Piedrahita, province of Avila, Spain, that it was built in the mid-eighteenth century by Fernando de Silva and Alvarez de Toledo, 12th Duke of Alba de Tormes, is currently used as a primary school, but retains its vivid image abroad and especially the beautiful gardens replica of South Versailles gardens adorned with fountains.

  • A luxury for Piedrahita have Institute a Palace with gardens back to walking, running, etc.

  • Visit disappoints a bit since the Palace of the Dukes of Alba is not closed to the public for being a College, the Church of the assumption is only open Saturdays and on reduced hours and the rest of the people there is nothing worth mentioning. Only the main square has its charm for tapas or dinner.

  • It is the largest tourist attraction of Piedrahita, now in college. It cannot be visited and is a pity all a Palace of the Dukes of Alba to stay closed to tourists (even to non-teaching hours, where there are no classes). The building is very nice.

  • Former Palace of the Dukes of Alba. Born Grand Duke in a town near Piedrahita this palace housed the family as well as Goya who painted the picture of the harvest in their gardens. Converted into a school only keeps its exterior as a memory of the past. Interesting your visit as well as the castle of El Mirón very close to these and also the Alba's residence.
