Bodegas Protos, Penafiel
Categories: Wineries & Vineyards, Food & Drink
Offering both red and white wines, Bodegas Protos features winery tours beside a castle that contains a wine museum. Wine & Spirits magazine selected this attraction as wine cellar of the year in 2013. They make wine on a massive scale, and you can see the whole operation. Architect Richard Rogers designed the buildings, which include a new cellar connected with the old via underground tunnels. After the tasting, you can keep your wine glass as a souvenir. Visit begins with a projection on the history of the wineries from its origin to the present followed by a tour of the original tunnels (amazing labyrinth under the Castle Mountain), wash barrels and bottling and modern facilities area by the architect Richard Rogers. The entire enlivened with explanations and data of a truly professional and sympathetic Guide. Then there is a tasting of two wines (red and verdejo) in which offered aperitifs detract the quality of the wines. The output is performed by the shop in the new cellar where it is possible to acquire the brand product. In short, a very good choice of travel by the Ribera del Duero.show original

Visit of €10 per person we did with child and cart. It is prepared with lifts. Well prepared for tourism. You have to book appointment, perhaps somewhat mass. In my opinion, a little expensive wine. A melhor vinicula que já visitei. Um tour completo passando por toda bodega e finalizando com uma boa prova de vinhos. Super recomendadoThe best vinicula I've ever visited. A full tour going through every bodega and ending with a good wine tasting. Super recommendedshow original
Diego AndresThey have two cellars and visits show you both, the classic with the barrels buried under the slope of the Castle and the spectacular work of the renowned architect Richard Rogers, I recommend climbing to the Castle and admire their way of bunch of grapes. No doubt the stars are wines, we tested two with the staff councils and learned a little more about this scene.show original
