Bodegas Protos, Penafiel

(4/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Offering both red and white wines, Bodegas Protos features winery tours beside a castle that contains a wine museum. Wine & Spirits magazine selected this attraction as wine cellar of the year in 2013. They make wine on a massive scale, and you can see the whole operation. Architect Richard Rogers designed the buildings, which include a new cellar connected with the old via underground tunnels. After the tasting, you can keep your wine glass as a souvenir. • We made the reservation in advance by phone, and choose a tasting of 15 euros per person, made us a presentation in general in a room with a video and subsequently passed to the winery Guide accompanying us was us showing and explaining everything very well, ultimately went to a lounge where we did a tasting of four different wines accompanied with tapas all very well explained later passed to the exit where we could buy some of the wines we tasted. We loved it and we recommend this visit

  • The winery facilities are very good. The guides are very friendly but lack some technical explanation of the winemaking process. The tasting we did was the basic visit of an hour and a half. We tested a verdejo and a breeding. They explain it well. The visit is highly recommended. Good value for money

  • It is the first Winery in ribera del duero. Surplus, have earned, being there, among the best. Tour old and new winery with guide, should arrange a visit with time. The tour end taste two wines, but you have option in other packages to do more things. Then you can buy wine at the store, which is something more affordable to buy wine in store. I recommend wine aging 2013 very good.

  • Good wines, beautiful winery and friendly staff.
  • A last guided by €10, with tasting and gift included. In addition to its new winery architecture. Highly recommended if you are visiting Valladolid or nearby.

  • Good wine tasting (according to the consumption for a fee), modern stylish ambience of the technology, wine sales of otherwise not easily available specialties.

  • Bodegas Protos (Protos Winery Ribera de Duero de Peñafiel S. L.) is a Spanish wine company located in Peñafiel (Valladolid). It was founded in 1927 by the union of eleven wine-growers in the area, becoming the first Winery in what would later become the denomination of origin Ribera del Duero. [citation needed] Although originally it was a cooperative, it is a limited company since 1995.
