  • I spent a week at this school in May. To put it simply, the instructors are great and the classroom experience is well thought-out, varied and fun (and challenging, especially for me...). Classroom experiences were balanced with local "field trips" that were educational and fun. The town of Panes is in a great location and I grew to really like it a lot. And, to cap it off, the hiking in the afternoon was phenomenal. The guides were really personable and interesting, and balanced hard hiking days with more relaxed experiences. I really think this is the perfect way to study Spanish and enjoy the Picos. Hats off to the great teachers and the guides, who made this a very special experience and who make you feel like you are really a part of the local community.
  • Just spent a fantastic week at this school and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a great combination - walking and learning the language. The teachers work you hard but provide interesting and varied lessons to keep you on your toes. I enjoyed the walks but am especially proud to have completed the Rute Del Cares. Julian our guide was so helpful and really motivating. I can’t recommend the experience enough.
  • Excellent language school with friendly, professional teachers. I started learning Spanish casually a few months ago and I am basically a beginner. I do feel that to get the most out of the course one would need a better level of proficiency than what I have. Neverthless I did learn a considerable amount and it gave me a good basis for further study. I had been learning beforehand with the aid of the Duolingo app, which is reasonably good but is American Spanish and there are differences between it and Spanish as spoken in Spain, something to be aware of.
  • Delighted to return to Panes and Peak-Me after an imposed break during the pandemic. Hopefully my next visit will not be after so protracted a period. I felt great energy at the school, to make learning enjoyable in a diverse group of people, but also keep everyone well. The combination of classes and activities works well, and I thought the connection between activities and classes had improved this time. I loved meeting people in the community as part of the activities, and each time, they were so welcoming. Ana and Celina worked really hard to keep the classes relevant, vibrant and motivating. Julian gave us an insight into natural beauty of rural Asturias, and tasting local produce went down particularly well in the spring sunshine. This time, I stayed at La Bardenilla Apartments,in Siejo, which was a short but enjoyable walk to the school. Rosa, the owner was on hand with advice and support, including her knowledge of restaurants and places to explore, and willingness to help arranging taxis so we weren't restricted to restaurants within walking distance. There is so much to do and see, that a week is not enough, so I hired a car to explore the magnificent coast and mountains. Thank you for such an enjoyable trip.
  • Terrific teachers. A lovely unspoiled part of the world. Great variety of walks. Lots of fun!
