Serra de Tramuntana, Palma de Mallorca

4.9
Enjoy the outdoor scenery at Serra de Tramuntana, a limestone mountain range filled with peaks and caves that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take along water and hiking boots to explore the mountains, and be sure to buy a guidebook that illustrates the trails. It’s best to visit the area by car, so if you haven’t rented one, consider hiring a driver or taking a bus. Ask your driver to stop at the spots with good photo opportunities. There are towns and villages to visit in the park, as well. To plan Palma de Mallorca vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • If you stay in Majorca you can't give up a tour on this mountain range to 90 km that covers the entire North coast of the island. In 2011 the Unesco declared this place a world heritage site in the category cultural landscapes and it is true because it runs out of paths between mountain and sea, sometimes tortuous but picturesque route as and with breathtaking views. The Council organized trips or public transport to enjoy better the various moments and not stress about driving with sharp bends and narrow paths between steep rocks. Great way to train and tram from Palma next thru the Northwest Coast de la Serra de Tramuntana lead to Soller and Port Sóller. In the North-East Coast Park forced at least port of Sa Calobra and visit (15 minute walk) to the scenic mouth of the torrent de Pareis at sea between steep rock walls style American Grand canyons. Possibility of direct link between Port Soller & Sa Calobra with motorboat that in 40 minutes through the steep costs and allows you to admire the island from the North.

Where to stay in Palma de Mallorca

To experience the heart of Palma, opt to stay in the the inner ring of La Avinguadas street, where lies the historical city center. The mostly traffic-free district is filled with beautiful island architecture housing boutique hotels, historical restaurants, and lovely plazas, and is only a short walk from the city beach and port. The Santa Catalina neighborhood is another popular option for accommodation as it is well known for its restaurants, daily market, and close proximity to the city's main sites. Just east of the city center is Portixol, a beachside neighborhood that still retains its charm of an old fishing village. For a small town beach atmosphere, stay along Platja de Palma, the beach stretching east of the city center.
