Pilar and Joan Miro Foundation in Mallorca is a foundation built to house the work of Joan Miró, located on the island where he spent the last years of his life. Donated by the artist himself before his death, the structure houses an array of paintings and sculptures from his four workshops. Paintings hang from the walls inside the modern building, while sculptures decorate the landscaped garden in the building's courtyard. The foundation also offers a glimpse of the artist's former studios donated to the city of Palma by Pilar Miró, wife of the painter, for public viewing. • Relatively small number of exhibits on show and one didn’t get a real feel for the artist. Cafe closed. Seeing the studios he worked in was interesting  more »
  • The museum may not have many of the artist's major works, but it is interesting to understand where and how he worked, his creative process, etc. A visit very much worth it.  more »

  • Much more interesting than I expected. It was lovely to be able to see his actual places of work, particularly the building that was designed by a friend of his. Very nice gift shop and perfectly pleasant cafe. But the best part? There's a pool/pond where there are turtles swimming around!
  • If you like surrealism and art history it's wonderful. It's even better if you're a senior ( cut price entrance ) and the cafe is good. Well worth a visit.
  • Very nice gallery. If you like Joan Miró art you must go and visit this place. Is it so beautiful.
  • Even as a fan of modern art, Miro's work doesn't interest me. The studios are interesting.
  • Nice museum with a sculpture garden. And two workshops Miro used to create his pieces. Also there is a cafe.
