Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca is a foundation built to house the work of Joan Miró, located on the island where he spent the last years of his life. Donated by the artist himself before his death, the structure houses an array of paintings and sculptures from his four workshops. Paintings hang from the walls inside the modern building, while sculptures decorate the landscaped garden in the building's courtyard. The foundation also offers a glimpse of the artist's former studios donated to the city of Palma by Pilar Miró, wife of the painter, for public viewing. • This incredible place in Palma de Mallorca, sums up the personality of the painter. There lived Joan Miro, there is his immense atelier where rest different and varied pictures many means to ends: seems to expect the artist as if it were to return at any time to finish them. Site has a lot of light and also retains hats the wore and clothes used to paint. The venue is huge, full of light, with impressive slopes and stairs above is the House where the created sculptures, some of them are there scattered in the Garden: from there a beautiful view of the sea, the port, the neighborhood that surrounds the construction and more back in the Centre of Palma. Again downstairs is accessed with the Foundation where this works, paintings, sculptures, ceramics exhibition: the aesthetics of the place is unique and the rooms receive natural light from the glass walls overlooking the rear garden: another treasure, full of sculptures and objects. Opposite the entrance to this building an immense source that seems confused on the horizon with the sky and the sea. There is a parking lot of the Foundation at its entrance, it's free and very comfortable. The Centre of Palma is just 10 minutes drive from there. I find it INCREDIBLE, devote a couple of hours to this attraction is worth!

  • Very nice! Great architecture, fair price, great art in a beautiful setting. Takes about an hour to 90 minutes, so perfect for a very hot or a rainy afternoon. The café belonging to it can be recommended too!
  • Beautiful museum. Great artworks. Lovely architecture.if you like miró's art, this is a must!
  • Very nice museum with excellent expo of miro's work. Light in the museum through marble windows is absolutely stunning. Free parking.
  • Nice place for Joan Miro fans 😊 Nice to see where he lived and his workplace.. Amazing view.. Plan your visit on Saturday, its free entry 😊
  • We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves, being late in the season. The gallery was splendid and it was quite interesting to see the space in which Miro worked and lived. Still no need to scribble on the walls though I feel 😉
