Monte Naranco, Oviedo
(4.6/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Admire truly panoramic vistas of Oviedo, the distant blue mountains, and the coast at Monte Naranco. There's road access to the top, though it also makes a beautiful hike, if you're up to it. The mountain is also home to bike trails used for numerous bike races. On the way up, be sure to stop at the Romanesque shrines, Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo, dating from the heyday of the Kingdom of Asturias. At the top stands a 35 m (114 ft) statue, The Sacred Heart of Jesus, opening his arms to the landcape. The summit also makes a spectacular place to enjoy a picnic, with rustic wood tables perched atop the grass. • Although this away and the road is difficult, is a visit must! Really impressive both the Christ as the views of Oviedo, much more beautiful by the night, with all illuminated, impressive

  • The monte Naranco, more specifically its top, is an of the visits forced if are in Oviedo. From there you have spectacular views of the entire city of Oviedo. There is a large Christ who is from so long ago already a symbol of the city, and being on your side if you're in a sunny day very clearly looking north you can get to see the sea very far. If you are going to visit monte Naranco advise for your visit do it the same day that the visit to Santa María de el Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo which are also in the naranco. I advise that you leave your car in the parking prepared for the visit to these monuments, visit the interpretation centre and then these two monument. When finished takes the car and climbs to the top of the Naranco. All these tours will take you to a morning or an afternoon.

  • Views of the entire city of Oviedo, perfect place to relax watching the city from atop no more noise than any animal in the distance, recommendable to climb despite the road.
