Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 20+ reviews on the web
A pristine tropical lagoon with black volcanic rocks surrounding patches of white sand, Charca de la Novia offers a chance to swim away from the tourist crowds. At high tide the sea fills the lagoon with clear, turquoise water that warms up quickly. Paddle in the shallow natural pool filled with small fish, or take cover from the wind in small rounded shelters constructed by regulars out of the boulders. • The pond of the bride is part of a series of white sandy beaches located to the North of the island on the way to Órzola. This series of beaches is called "caletones" and is characterized by forming small pools natural surrounded of rock volcanic depending on the tide. The water is crystal clear and shallow, contrasting with the black rocks. In its extension occur some sediment of natural stone that mitigate the constant prevailing wind in Órzola. Access to them is not difficult. A little before reaching Órzola is a dirt track on the right that leads to a large parking lot. I recommend take drink, something to eat and sunscreen for a quiet and peaceful day in this magnificent beach. Highly recommended.
