Constructed during the early thirteenth century, Colegiata de Roncesvalles is arguably the finest example of Navarra-style Gothic architecture in Spain. The collegiate church has been a popular starting point for pilgrims traveling to the city of Santiago de Compostela, as it is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains. Explore the church’s Gothic and Baroque interior as you wander through the nave and crypt. Admire the large and vibrant stained-glass windows in the Chapel of St. Augustine, which also contains a garden in the courtyard. Be sure to bring your camera in order to capture the hilly countryside surrounding the college and church grounds. There were just the three of us on the bus, all pilgrims who would start at the top of the Pyrenees Mountains in Roncesvalles. Riding with me was Malcolm the Irishman, and Juan, a 30-year-old Spanish ... more »

Worth a visit, and if it is accompanied by a Gregorian chant or a coral that brightens the visit we are the perfect place for a moment of relaxation.
Best church ever.
김련우In winter, the guy laying in the Cathedral because running is to stay at the Albergo. In this case, Real Colegiata de Roncesvalles Zaldua Campa will be written receipt. (Don't you ever know the exact minutes, please request a line as a comment now.) The facility itself is not bad, the washer can be used free of charge. But I didn't have dinner at a restaurant located next to the kitchen sameogeo. This meeting gave us the evening and morning or when you pay the price for Albergue Office. Okay, so eat up. After time as a chaplain mass after the old church building that covers the parts of the new Church, San Cho would describe the history of the King. Chaplain after only a brief greeting Korean and English descriptions as well as be as close to the progression in Spanish interpreters can anyone knows how to do it yourself, or Spanish.
Gustavo AtxirikaCollegiate Church that is impregnated with the echoes of the battle of Roncesvalles and the Camino de Santiago. Tomb of Sancho "El Fuerte", that of las Navas de Tolosa. Spectacular landscape up to the Ibañeta and or the nearby Selva de Irati.
LUIS FERNANDEZSpectacular monastery, full of history
Franco PalazziRoncesvalles is long and tiring after a first stage arrives from France, from Saint Jean Pied de Port, stepping over the Pyrenees. Downloaded the backpack after doing the formalities for the reception at the hostel just outside to visit the town, a little amazed at the size of the place. The entrance into the Colegiata becomes a viaticum for the path ahead, hence almost 800 kilometers to get to Santiago de Compostela. The atmosphere of peace and serenity that pervades the Church helps to forget fatigue just born and allows you to own tempo on what you can expect in the days ahead. A necessary moment of meditation before flying out with the right motivation.
