Colegiata de Roncesvalles, Orreaga-Roncesvalles
Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Constructed during the early thirteenth century, Colegiata de Roncesvalles is arguably the finest example of Navarra-style Gothic architecture in Spain. The collegiate church has been a popular starting point for pilgrims traveling to the city of Santiago de Compostela, as it is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains. Explore the church’s Gothic and Baroque interior as you wander through the nave and crypt. Admire the large and vibrant stained-glass windows in the Chapel of St. Augustine, which also contains a garden in the courtyard. Be sure to bring your camera in order to capture the hilly countryside surrounding the college and church grounds. Rate reduced from 2€ (cloister, grave and cover) (with visit guided are 5€). Even expensive for what there is to see. Over the Church is closed. THE VISIT TO THE IRATI FOREST IS ESSENTIAL...
