Volcà del Montsacopa is an extinct volcano in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, situated in Olot, Catalunya, Spain.The volcano has been extinct for about 100,000 years.On top of the crater is the hermitage of San Francisco, built in the 17th century.

  • You can climb by two sites, it all depends on the desire to have you climb a mountain, if you have good legs (at the end to reach the crater know that), on the left side of the cemetery, there is a way with rungs made of logs of wood as you raise and tours you you seeing Olot, and another road to the right of the cemetery is flat asphalted and not so sinuous, this make it down, one time up we find La Capella de Sant Francesc the only remaining three which had in ancient times. Deserves full turn around the crater and if you wish you can download to the crater.

  • Access to the crater of the dormant volcano is easy, a 20-minute walk away. At the top you will find Olot, a charmless city view. The crater is without interest (small hole). Disappointing...
