That Yes, it is advisable to go to a time in which there is no children, because you want to upload to everything and just let you take photos to the monuments. Especially the castles of Coca and the Mota were a bit full, je je. Otherwise, precious, both structures and the environment, great for a nice afternoon walk dsndoun.

En Olmedo, esa noble villa vallisoletano conocida como de los Siete Sietes y que fue elegida por Lope de Vega para situar a su "caballero" (El Caballero de Olmedo) y a su doña Inés, allí se encuentra ... more »In Olmedo, that noble Valladolid town known as the seven Sevens and was chosen by Lope de Vega to place its "Knight" (the Knight of Olmedo) and its Doña Inés, there is the theme park of the Mudejar style of Castilla y León. One of the events of major significance in the history of Spanish art is the appearance of the style called "mudejar" as mystification of Christian artistic currents (Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance) and Muslim women of the time. The social origin of the Mudejar style can be found in the advancement of the Leonese, Castilian and Aragonese reconquista which meant the incorporation of territories with Muslim population, contributing their knowledge in the field of various arts. It is commonly accepted that the emergence of the mudejar must date it in the 12th century in the - by then - powerful city of Sahagún. This Leonese town of Camino de Santiago became a strong religious and economic centre in the 12th and 13th centuries as shown in the Codex Calixtino "prodigy of all kinds of goods". It is possible that some gangs of Toledo alarifes were contracted to accelerate various architectural projects which developed in the Leonese city at that time. The mudejar consolidates in the 13th century and is exported to the South and Southeast, all lands them plain and with few quarries of stone (Zamora, Salamanca, Valladolid, Ávila, Guadalajara, Madrid and Segovia, without hardly affecting Burgos, Palencia and Soria). This mudejar, born in Castilla y Leon from Romanesque but it acquires its own identity by its material and its decoration is called "ciency Mudéjar" is one of the regional variants of the Mudejar style that accompanies the toledano, Aragonese, Andalusian, etc. Given the Romanesque ascending of this art has been called traditionally by many authors as "mudejar Romanesque" and even "Romanesque brick". And in this theme park of Olmedo found us 18 replica great size with emblematic buildings of Mudejar art of Castilla and Leon: Avila (gate of Catalapiedra and gate of Medina of Madrigal de las Altas Torres, Church La Lugareja de Arévalo), lion (Church of San Tirso de Sahagun), Palencia (Palace of Peter I of Astudillo), de Segovia (Castillo de Coca (, Puerta de San Basilio de Cuellar), Soria (San Saturio Hermitage), in Valladolid (source of the spout new, St. Michael's Church and Church of San Andrés de Olmedo, Castle of Mota of Medina del Campo, Church of San Boal de Pozaldez, Church of San Pedro de Alcarazan, Church of San Juan of Fresno el Viejo) and Zamora (Church of San Salvador de Toro). Simply exciting. And it was there, in the Villa of the seven Sevens, also known as le Olmedo.

Reproductions of the castles of Coca and especially the castle of les Mota are excellent. Recommended for all ages. Do not miss the railway model which is another cool.
