We parked near the reservoir and were told there are two walks, a 5 km and a 10km one. The 10 km one goes around the reservoir and the 5 km goes uphill after about 2 kms and doubles back on itself... more »

Great place to stroll. Nice hikes to make. The holzarte Gorge is not far away. Possibility to rent chalets and winter to go cross-country skiing and sledging.

The Forest of Irati is one of those places that catch you with its magic and mystery. I was fortunate to pass through its forests during the Transpirenaica route and it was an experience that moved me and changed me forever.

El otoño en la Selva de Irati es espectacular, pero en PRIMAVERA el verde lo vimos tan intenso que nos fascinó. Muy recomendable la visita. Te atienden muy bien y la comida en los restaurantes de la zona es casera y muy buena. Nosotros accedimos por el Punto de Información de Arrazola (Orbaiceta) y nos alojamos muy cerquita, en una casa rural en Aria. Todo perfecto, no podría haber sido mejor.

Autumn in the Irati Forest is spectacular, but in PRIMAVERA the green we saw it so intense that it fascinated us. Highly recommended visit. They serve you very well and the food in the restaurants in the area is homemade and very good. We accessed the Arrazola Information Point (Orbaiceta) and stayed very close, in a country house in Aria. Everything perfect, couldn't have been better.
