  • With its cloister and several unusually interesting figures of Saints, the monastery is a "real explorers treasure"! In the crypt, the cave is located in the legend after the former King Garcia that Virgin Mary appeared, which ultimately led to the alleged relics of St. James '! And also the choir is exceptional, but only via a narrow and difficult to walkable staircase on the first floor.

  • Re-fuel on any trip through the area. Ordinary entry costs €4, and the visit can be done both guided as free. Extraordinary the cloister of the Knights and the Royal pantheon. Also deserves much the penalty the stalls of the choir (this only accessible in visits guided). As a novelty, the audio guide is available for download as a mobile app (have wifi to download it - is more than 30 Mb - and in-store give you password). Very friendly staff and fantastic place to visit. For who access drive, I would recommend to leave it in the parking lot on the other side of the river. Crossing the runway, they are barely ten minutes walk. Rolled up to the monastery access is difficult, and Park to that side of the River, still more.

  • In addition to the impressive Gothic nave of the Church and the cloister of the Knights, is striking the Royal Cemetery with the graves of Kings perfectly aligned.

  • This Monastery could be a tourist attraction due to its location in the course of the camino de Santiago. Despite this, the monastery is badly, beware crap everywhere and weeds by the walls. In addition, it has a very limited schedule, I do not think that it can afford in a country living of tourism, on a Sunday, I was open from 10 to 12 h in the morning and from 16 to 18 h in the afternoon.
