The Virxe da Barca sanctuary is a church located in Muxía, Spain. It was destroyed by a fire that was started by lightning on 25 December 2013.HistoryThe sanctuary was originally a pre-Christian Celtic shrine and sacred spot. This part of Spain was resistant to conversion to Christianity, and was only converted in the 12th century. • If you are by the costa da Morte is forced to go to this sanctuary, the building is pretty without being a wonder but the enclave is wonderful and safe photography lovers that bring good match it, would recommend acudierais with any garment since it sticks quite cold wind in the area.

  • Arrival in the rain with a fellow German pilgrimage. We visited the Church and enjoyed the view of the coast of death, understanding why has this name ... with the stormy sea is truly scary. The Church, however, shows how watchful bulwark on the cliff. To visit.

  • Despite not being very devout, we decided to visit the place and the truth that was great. It is located in a beautiful place and below has a lighthouse which can be also seen. The coast is wide and the place has the typical jobs of souvenirs. Recommended.

  • In Muxia, village of narrow streets and stone houses decorated with mouldings of iron, the Lighthouse is replaced by the sanctuary of A Virxe da Barca, built on the rocks of the coast brave beachfront of the Costa da Morte.) and that of Corme e Laxe.
