  • The Aquarium of the University of Murcia, if I remember correctly, arises when a group of researchers were working with sharks and later with seahorses. There was a small facility at the Faculty of biology and later when some pavilions of the old barracks of artillery of the calle Cartagena passed to the UMU, they decide to ride this Aquarium, annex to some rooms where work in the reproduction of the seahorse. Or in its origin nor in its purpose is pretended to provide to Murcia of a great aquarium, question this that supposed a great investment that obviously or can or must do the University of Murcia. Nevertheless, it is interesting to visit it and see marine funds of different seas with enough fish. The entrance is very economic (1 €) and is can visit in Group and in this case an educator / researcher you accompanies and explains all. Is very visited by groups School of all the ages, including groups of some degrees University, e.g. students from the grade of master. Ultimately without comparing it with large aquariums of Valencia, Barcelona and other cities, it is interesting to visit it.
