Mijas Plaza de Toros, Mijas

(4.2/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
The centerpiece of a historic village, Mijas Plaza de Toros is a remnant of Spain's past. This oval-shaped ring is a gathering place for villagers and visitors alike to witness the spectacle of the bullfight and traditional dancing. The town's second most important gathering place is the church next door, the Church of Our Lady of the Conception. The chapel stands tall over the bullring, and combined with the dusty ring is a snapshot of Spain's long heritage. When events aren't being held in the ring, you can still go inside to tour the grounds and take photos. Visit the ticket window outside the ring to inquire about event times and ticket prices. • With more than 100 years old, is a unique square in the world because of its oval shape almost rectangular, very small (about 500 towns, scattered in the stands of the two sides and very nice.)

  • It's a little hard to find the entrance - the main gates are closed... it's through a small store. There are exhibits relating to bullfighting and famous matadors, as well as the bull ring itself.  more »
  • This was my first visit too and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely little bull ring with a bit of history. It was wonderful to be able to actually hold a bullfighting cape - extremely heavy!!  more »

  • Nice and a quite place to have a coffee
  • Very nice with monthly events but nice and intimate
  • Looks nice from the outside..
  • Hermosa plaza
  • The bullfighting spectacle like it or not it is a good opportunity to enter the arena from a plaza de toros real with very small dimensions. I have to pay entrance and visit lasts about 15/20 minutes in total between tiers, sand, patio of horses, etc. From the square is very beautiful views of the village and the mountain.
