Roman Bridge, Merida
Categories: Bridges, Tourist Spots
Experience a piece of history at Roman Bridge, the longest surviving bridge from ancient times, which crosses the Guadiana River. The architecture of the bridge is a highlight for visitors, featuring sixty half-moon arches. You can cross the bridge on foot to the park on the other side, and visit the Alcazaba of Mérida, a Moorish fortification. This site is particularly beautiful at sunrise or sunset. Cool old Roman bridge. Great pedestrian walkway.
RICARDO MERATMerida Roman bridge connects the two banks of the Guadiana river (the old part with the new) and is a very pleasant walk. The bridge is long enough, I think has about 800 meters of length and part from the door of the Alcazaba. It is currently only pedestrian and is a constant coming and going of people walking.show original
