Salobre Golf and Resort, Maspalomas

3.5
#4 of 6 in Golf in Gran Canaria
Strategically built to blend with the landscape, Salobre Golf and Resort offers luxurious views of mountain and sea throughout. Enjoy the tranquility of the sustainably designed golf courses and appreciate the native plant and animal life as you play. The challenging north course takes advantage of the natural volcanic rock terrain and is not for those with a fear of heights. Try out the south course for a slightly less technical game. Both courses are hilly and require a lot of walking, so hiring a golf cart is recommended. If you wish to improve your game, the academy on site also offers programs for all levels. We have been here in august several years in a row to play golf and enjoy the delicious life at the Sheraton Salobre. Golf Hotel is located on the cluster and you rent golf cart on site as one running out to the courts and driving range. In July and august have been when we golf free have been here-we pay only for the golf cart. The paths are well kept and very different. The old course can well is said to be traditional. It is varied and has some long challenging holes. With 23 in the hcp I play mostly on my handicap on this track from Red tee. The new course is a little adventure and not similar to any other path we have played. A good advice when to play this path the first time is to de-stress, blow in how many points you get, the feast of that it is possible to build a golf course in a cliff steep desert area and have fun. Turn the ball off the fairway is the probably 300 m straight down into a Gorge. Another thing that is very good with all the energy and Salobre is the performance they put down to keep the path in condition, that they have the most delicious water closets for each third hole and that it is so green and lush everywhere on the course here in the desert area.

I have played the old course at Salobre golf twice and have enjoyed both rounds. The course has some great holes that really need to be thought out and the greens run true. I definitely would take a b...  more »
