Packed with exotic plants and animals, Palmitos Park is a 20 hectare (49 acre) botanic garden and aviary located just a short drive from the island’s popular beaches. The big appeal of this park is its great wealth of cacti and succulents, with over 160 different cactus types and nearly 1,000 palm trees of 42 varieties. The park houses over 1,500 exotic birds, representing about 230 different species. Hummingbirds, swans, ducks, parrots, crocodiles, and monkeys may be the park’s most popular residents, but you can also choose to visit the aquarium, noted for its large fish and coral displays and daily dolphin shows. This park is also home to Europe’s biggest butterfly house. As you near the exit, visit the park’s souvenir shop. Benché gran canaria non brilli per spazi verdi devo dire che questa piacevole attrazione turistica è sita in uno squarcio di terra lontano dai centri abitativi dove il verde e la natura la fa da padro... more »
Although gran canaria does not shine for green spaces I have to say that this pleasant tourist attraction is offering a glimpse of land away from residential centers where the Green and nature is the master. Many species of animals, butterflies, reptiles, an unknown number of birds, and the main attraction the dolphins. Cute and well made the shows, (even if the times are not punctual) good catering (but expensive) all services. Price quality ratio unfair because overpriced as regards the cost of the tickets. Overall recommended.View original -
Olen käynyt täällä 25v sitten aiemmin...hyvin ovat kehittäneet paikkaa. Paikat siistejä ja ohjelmat tekevät mielen hyvälle tuulelle. Muista ottaa hattu mukaan. Huonosti liikkuvat ottakaa vuokra "mopo"... more »
I've been here in the past, 25v, then ... well, have developed. Locations and programs will make your mind feel good. Be sure to take a hat. Bad move, take the lease "moped" ups and downs of the is and the steps to build up quite nicely. By bus you can reach easily. A whole day trip.View original -
En trevlig upplevelse om man har en dag över. Delfiner, rovfåglar och papegojor visas upp. Lagom stor djurpark men en blandning av olika exotiska djur. more »
A pleasant experience if you have a day to spare. Dolphins, birds of prey and parrots. Great Zoo but a mixture of various exotic animals.View original

I enjoyed the day!!! The park itself it s quite big, it can take you 4-5hrs if you take into consideration also the shows offered ( dolphins , parrots , exotic birds , prey birds ) Check before when the dolphins shows are scheduled you cannot miss it! The ticket buy it online to get a discount and skip the queue Take water and a cap or something to be covered , lots of sun... and for shows there is no cover when you sit .... Inside the park you have pricey food and drinks Parking is large with plenty of space

Lovely day out. The park is well laid out and the animals appear to be well cared for and happy. My highlight was the dolphin show ... it was amazing - so well done and entertaining. The grounds of the park are spectacular, well kept & beautifully presented. I also enjoyed the parrot show .. again very entertaining. Buying food and drink at Palmitos Park is a bit of an expense ....nothing is cheap in this type of environment, so I took plenty of water and a few snacks - enough to tide us over until we got back to our hotel for evening meal (we didn't have any little ones with us - thank goodness ) My best tip, if you have young children with you, take lots of drinks and snacks - they will love it -lots of stuff to engage them.

Excellent park with several daily shows. We saw the parrot and dolphin shows. While the park is certainly smaller than Sea World, the dolphins are no less impressive. The show also educates and emphasizes that some exercises may not be perfectly executed by young dolphins still under training. I like the fact that you do not seek perfection but rather show that these animals really like to play and perform. The park is located in a mountainous terrain and the road there is a bit "interesting" if you haven't driven on narrow mountain roads before. It isn't a long road and the speed limit is 40 km/h. So it is not nearly as nasty as some roads in the Alps or Andes. There are public bus services to the park in case you don't want to drive yourself. The food next to the Dolphinarium is excellent. Our young kids loved the pizza and lasagna, respectively and the steak with fries is fantastic. The waiter even asks you to try to the steak to see if you are happy with how it has been cooked. All this comes at a price which is a bit high but certainly well worth it - the park is huge and has a lot of animals, not to mention a lot of beautiful trees and plants which require watering. You can save a few Euros by purchasing tickets on the Internet. That also allows you to skip the queue. Curiously, tickets are based on children's "age and/or height". So a "Mini" child is 3-4 years old OR 90-110 cm tall, while a "Child" is 5-10 years old OR 110-140 cm. Older or taller children are adults. You can purchase additional dolphin privileges such as "close contact" (€60-90) and photos with the dolphins (€10-30). We did not do this - the show itself was fine for us. Do note that the park is built on the side of a mountain. Some of the paths are very steep. It is possible to avoid the steepest paths and still be able to see the main attractions but it will of course limit what you are able to see in the park. All in all, a bit costly but very much worth the money.

Payed 60 euros for two people entry fee. Ok. Was worth it. Amazing park. But after that everything was really expensive. One small bottle of water and soft drink 6.5 Euro. Large beer 7.5 Euro. Pictures with animals cost 10 euro. Nowhere free water to drink, had to pay. Everywhere kiosks with souvenir gifts for sale. Got disgusted... Come on guys, how much money you want to make from a visit?
