Palmitos Park, Maspalomas

(4.3/5 based on 5,000+ reviews on the web)
Packed with exotic plants and animals, Palmitos Park is a 20 hectare (49 acre) botanic garden and aviary located just a short drive from the island’s popular beaches. The big appeal of this park is its great wealth of cacti and succulents, with over 160 different cactus types and nearly 1,000 palm trees of 42 varieties. The park houses over 1,500 exotic birds, representing about 230 different species. Hummingbirds, swans, ducks, parrots, crocodiles, and monkeys may be the park’s most popular residents, but you can also choose to visit the aquarium, noted for its large fish and coral displays and daily dolphin shows. This park is also home to Europe’s biggest butterfly house. As you near the exit, visit the park’s souvenir shop. Our Maspalomas trip builder makes visiting Palmitos Park and other Maspalomas attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Great place to spend the day, surrounded by nature. Zoo very well care and clean, excellent facilities with a variety of animals, very clean and well groomed. The truth was I very pleasantly surprised, we had a fun and unforgettable day no doubt if we went back to Gran Canaria, we recommend a visit to this highly recommended natural park for families with children. Has also to be able to eat various sites inside the enclosure. The typical food Canaria and of good quality, have varied food, pasta, burgers, dogs, etc. Very reasonable price. Them drinks in them kiosks a bit expensive, but not too much.

  • Enjoyed bus trip up to the park. Quite expensive (£30 euros each) to get in, but that includes subtropical gardens, cactus garden, dolphin show, wild bird show ( curtailed due to bad weather the day w...  more »
  • The Park is worth going there, because they're not that many family activities. Unfortunately, the prices are not for families, bring drinks and sandwiches with less than € 5 don't buy anything. We plucked ... the real attractions are the customers ...

  • Excellent place for young and old alike. It is not especially cheap at €30 per adult but can be worth it if you take the time to watch all the shows. The birds of prey show and the dolphin show are particularly good. Food is also priced high but you could take your own if you wanted. Plenty of animals on show as well as the open air shows.
  • Worth the time and money spent. The numerous shows shall entertain all age groups. Give the park at least six hours plus the drive. The canyon where the venue is located is a price itself. Staff is very friendly. Be nice and get a chance to play with some of the birds and dolphins.
  • A great place for a half day visit when you need a break from the pools. Both the eagle show and the dolphin show is worth the time. There is a decent restaurant in the park but otherwise it's fast food of debatable quality. So it might be better to bring a picnic.
  • Awesome park. I have been there many many times, and its always a great pleasure. The shows are high quality.
  • This park is very nice and the shows are okay. Still I believe it's way to overpriced both for the entrance and for dining in the park (Low quality food). I would recommend going to the Cocodrilo Park instead, which is smaller, but the price and the experience is way more compareable here.
