Palmitos Park, Maspalomas
(4.3/5 based on 4,600+ reviews on the web)
Packed with exotic plants and animals, Palmitos Park is a 20 hectare (49 acre) botanic garden and aviary located just a short drive from the island’s popular beaches. The big appeal of this park is its great wealth of cacti and succulents, with over 160 different cactus types and nearly 1,000 palm trees of 42 varieties. The park houses over 1,500 exotic birds, representing about 230 different species. Hummingbirds, swans, ducks, parrots, crocodiles, and monkeys may be the park’s most popular residents, but you can also choose to visit the aquarium, noted for its large fish and coral displays and daily dolphin shows. This park is also home to Europe’s biggest butterfly house. As you near the exit, visit the park’s souvenir shop. • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! It's worth going and take the road needed, twisty enough!!! My kids and we enjoyed, among dolphins, birds of prey and parrots show ... Sore point in the restaurant. Prompt and kind service, but quality absent ... We got lasagna, spaghetti and a burger ... zero x all ... all precooked and tasteless, sorry! The rest can imagine telling you that you will have a dip in the great outdoors!

  • On the South coast of Gran Canaria is not violently many alternatives for families with small children, this is clearly the best. Exciting animals and exotic plants in Wild surroundings. Maybe a tad expensive, but really nice and worth a visit.

  • I've undone my visit there. I was in the water with the dolphins. There I noticed that they were clearly stressed and hungry. The Dolphin I was with, had had all his teeth ground down. The last 3 teeth per side was there. When I asked in for it, sidestepped the coach question 2 times. Imagine if you had been sanded the teeth surface. They have a toothache each day. The Dolphin took at a time train's arm in his mouth. Had there been teeth, she had been bitten. It was hungry. They cost 20 euro to get a picture taken with the animals. And a great many pictures were taken. It was simply so sorry for the dolphins. Think about whether you will support it made. Has subsequently seen the movie blackfish, here tells former coaches about what they are doing by animals (killer whale) in order to get them to do tricks. They are starving them. Drilling in their teeth down the gums without anesthesia, when they have holes. On Tenerife they have borrowed Orcas from seaworld. In 2010, they have beaten a trainer to death. If a lion attacks a staff, one would shoot the animal, it makes you not with killer whales, as they have a very high value. Check out youtube, which will see a coach there for 15 minutes repeatedly will be pulled down at the bottom of the pool for up to a minute at a time. The reason was that the whale's young people were in the pool next door and called her mother. In nature, leaving his mother, never in cub seaworld removes the Cub, the mother is following and crying out in 24 hours after its young. Long distance calls. I have studied much about dolphins and Orcas in captivity, and it's horrible, what we humans featuring them. The only way we can stop it is by refusing to visit these places.

  • Excellent place for young and old alike. It is not especially cheap at €30 per adult but can be worth it if you take the time to watch all the shows. The birds of prey show and the dolphin show are particularly good. Food is also priced high but you could take your own if you wanted. Plenty of animals on show as well as the open air shows.
  • Worth the time and money spent. The numerous shows shall entertain all age groups. Give the park at least six hours plus the drive. The canyon where the venue is located is a price itself. Staff is very friendly. Be nice and get a chance to play with some of the birds and dolphins.
  • A great place for a half day visit when you need a break from the pools. Both the eagle show and the dolphin show is worth the time. There is a decent restaurant in the park but otherwise it's fast food of debatable quality. So it might be better to bring a picnic.
  • Awesome park. I have been there many many times, and its always a great pleasure. The shows are high quality.
  • This park is very nice and the shows are okay. Still I believe it's way to overpriced both for the entrance and for dining in the park (Low quality food). I would recommend going to the Cocodrilo Park instead, which is smaller, but the price and the experience is way more compareable here.
