Appreciate the atmosphere and beauty of Plaza de la Constitucion Malaga. Palm trees line the area and provide you shady relief from the sun. Shops offering a huge range of goods, from trinkets and jewelry to books and clothing, are exciting to browse through, and nearby restaurants provide delicious food and drink. There are also bakeries where you can buy sandwiches and breads. The plaza is home to a display depicting newspaper stories about the establishment of the Spanish Republic in 1978. Crossroads of streets and alleys full of history, tradition and good atmosphere. Bars and terraces on the street or on the roofs of hotels. Spectacular views.

Malaga with its numerous squares – Constitution square is one and the next one, which is located in the very centre of the city. Clean, a lot of cafes around, and palm trees.

  • In June 2017 there was a lovely outdoor art exhibit of Sebastião Salgado photographs.
  • Big, open plaza. During the holidays, it's very busy with people coming to see the lights and big Christmas tree. It's also where the Holy Week parades end.
  • Nice spot to take a break and admire the square and the houses and shops around it
  • A nice civic square. There are events, but not when I was there.
  • Lovely square - bustling, full of life. Wonderful lights when we wee there, too.

Where to stay in Malaga

For a chance to experience the heart of the city center, you will want to stay in the area surrounding Calle Larios and Alameda Principal. This constitutes the commercial shopping district of the city and is a convenient walk to the city's main attractions and beaches. Another option is the historical city center, where an array of lively tapas bars and shops intermix with the dramatic Gothic architecture. For a true beach vacation, choose to stay in one of the hotels lining the city beach where you can soak up views of the beautiful Costa Dorada away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
