#11 of 28 in Museums in Malaga
Located in a 17th-century inn, Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares offers a snapshot of life in Málaga as it was centuries ago. Each of the museum's 19 rooms offers a complete look at a particular trade or industry, as shown by its artifacts. Wander through an 18th-century blacksmith shop and emerge into a bakery with a corn-grinding mill and other traditional baking implements. Toward the back of the house, you'll find a room dedicated to the Málagueño fishing industry, including a traditional sardine fishing boat. Other rooms are home to wine-making artifacts, costumes, toys, early printed art, and more. The museum contains a remarkable amount of detail, down to the embers in the bedroom hearth. • It is a small museum ethnographic, with sections dedicated to different professions. Very interesting the part dedicated to everyday life: rooms, toys and clothing for children, etc.

Where to stay in Malaga

For a chance to experience the heart of the city center, you will want to stay in the area surrounding Calle Larios and Alameda Principal. This constitutes the commercial shopping district of the city and is a convenient walk to the city's main attractions and beaches. Another option is the historical city center, where an array of lively tapas bars and shops intermix with the dramatic Gothic architecture. For a true beach vacation, choose to stay in one of the hotels lining the city beach where you can soak up views of the beautiful Costa Dorada away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
