Delve into 19th-century Spanish art at Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga. Housed in a converted 16th-century Baroque palace, the museum features a permanent collection of works, from landscapes to portraits, done by predominantly Andalusian painters. For an interesting perspective on the development and culture of southern Spain, admire well-known pieces such as Plá’s “Ladies in the Garden” or “La Buenaventura” by Romero de Torres. Stop for a coffee and pastry at the museum’s palace cafe before leaving. • In my opinion not worth that money. Free entry on Sunday late afternoon. Picasso museum much better.
  • Very nice collection of works from a variety of artists and styles. It is also worth coming again every few months to see the temporary exhibitions. Tickets can be bought separately for the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
  • Impressive permanent collection
  • Nice building and the temporary exposition was the best
  • The permanent collection is beautiful and the QR codes to scan near the paintings provide additional information about the artist and the piece.
  • Cool, clean, fabulous toilets. Some well hung paintings. Picked up a few new favourites. Lots of security.
