  • Succession of business and tourist restaurants good for a walk and nothing more. The area is cleaned and supervised but definitely too touristy

  • Whenever we went down to the Centre of Malaga, we spent here. Although it does not have the glamour of Puerto Banus... little by little is going to close. It has a wide Boulevard and playground for children, shops of all kinds, bars and restaurants. This secure and you can enjoy a wonderful view looking at the Cathedral, the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro Castle at the same time. In the spring the Russian Pompidou Museum (Sundays is free to enter from 16.00 until closing). You can take a tour boat, rent bikes, hop on a train...

  • A wonder to stroll on the pier one. Any day and at any hour has its charm. Some Sundays put a flea market with much charm. There is shopping and catering for all budgets. From a TGB or 100 montaditos until Dani García.

  • Great place for evening walk. Lots of nice shops. Beautiful view. At the end of lighthouse.
  • Great variety of shops, entertainment, and local events in this location. You could spend between 1 hour- 4 hours here if you wished, depending on what you do. I came here to eat lunch, get a haircut at an outdoor fundraiser, and walk around the area before stopping by the Centre Pompidou.
  • Lots of lovely shops, restaurants and bars. All with a beautiful view back over malaga. Great place to stroll along both mornings or evening and even during the afternoon there's shade provided.
  • Everyone's cup of tea! Unless you are miserable.. If you are miserable, I would suggest to go and have a walk on promenade.. or go shopping (one of the best cures every woman approved!). If you are still not satisfied it might be because you are hungry! There are many different restaurants and cuisines! Still something missing? Go and have a drink! Parking Muelle Uno was converted into contemporary art gallery where you can drink coffee, beer or something stronger (they do nice mohito)!
  • Great seafront, fantastic restaurants for any budget. The Seaside is fantastic, bus transfers are available for everyone. Great views and fairly quiet.

Where to stay in Malaga

For a chance to experience the heart of the city center, you will want to stay in the area surrounding Calle Larios and Alameda Principal. This constitutes the commercial shopping district of the city and is a convenient walk to the city's main attractions and beaches. Another option is the historical city center, where an array of lively tapas bars and shops intermix with the dramatic Gothic architecture. For a true beach vacation, choose to stay in one of the hotels lining the city beach where you can soak up views of the beautiful Costa Dorada away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
