  • We couldn't not notice near the Cathedral this gem the Iglesia del Sagrario, Santa Maria Church (Sagrario, also known as the Church of the Tabernacle). Already the main door is worth the visit, is rich in Gothic niches of pillars and decorations above the entrance, with depictions of the Virgin Mary (among others) and of Christ. Inside we particularly enjoyed the altars, the altarpiece depicting the life of St Peter and St Paul, nice to the altar where there is the Virgen del sagrario. It is worth a visit as it is a gem of art.

  • There is always a Sunday Mass in the Church of the Tabernacle and it is a very good place to hear mass. One can see the very beautiful altar with all of its statues.  more »

Where to stay in Malaga

For a chance to experience the heart of the city center, you will want to stay in the area surrounding Calle Larios and Alameda Principal. This constitutes the commercial shopping district of the city and is a convenient walk to the city's main attractions and beaches. Another option is the historical city center, where an array of lively tapas bars and shops intermix with the dramatic Gothic architecture. For a true beach vacation, choose to stay in one of the hotels lining the city beach where you can soak up views of the beautiful Costa Dorada away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
