Fundacion Picasso - Museo Natal, Malaga

2.9
Fundacion Picasso - Museo Natal displays works by the great artist Picasso, of course, but also collections from other artists. Picasso lived here during his childhood, and you can see the very rooms where he spent his time. Try to connect his childhood hobbies to the visual themes he explored as an adult. Don’t forget to snap a picture with the statue of the artist himself outside. An audio guide is included with the price of entrance. • Outside the park bench on which sits a life-size statue of Picasso stands on the Plaza Merced and provides an ideal Selfie motif for tourists from all over the world. Next on the corner is the birthplace to the small apartment of Picasso's parents. You can see some few works by Picasso and his father, as well as all sorts of objects, photos, items of clothing, documents, which you searched either together or reconstructed/copied has. Looks just as you would expect from this old time, what will a typical flat? A school must also clearly make this tour after the other.

  • Picasso's birthplace is relatively small with some interesting information. Entrance fee of €3 is absolutely okay worth a detour, especially the great Plaza Merced in front of the House is worth a visit.

  • After visiting the museum dedicated to the art of Picasso, Malaga opens the doors to the birthplace of his distinguished citizen. Here, in a simple circuit and display logic, we can admire the family origins, the cultural environment, the friendships and the interests of the character. I would say that the visit is completion of the previous one, to have understanding of life of Picasso in relation to its pictorial evolution. The small collection of personal belongings brings the knowledge of man, as well as the artist.

  • Just been there ,gives a bit of insight into how his mind worked (definitely a mummy's boy). Worth the visit only €3 or €4 if you include the add on exhibition down the road about his stalker from Barcelona( Couldn't have had restaining orders in these days). If you go on a Sunday after 4pm it's free as are other places in the city. I cannot comment on the Art as I have a science background and to me the cubism reminds me of somebody superimposed on a brain. Still as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Enjoy but don't take it to seriously.
  • I was expecting to see more of Picasso house however only few props. The ticket for me was free however knowing what inside i wouldn't have paid.
  • Amazing museum, and interior is beautiful as well. Very recommended.
  • It's a very small museum. The temporary exhibition downstairs was only a few drawings, but well worth it. Upstairs are four restored rooms with memorabilia. Concessions tickets are available, and audio guide is included with the admission, so that's nice.
  • Interesting, a very different view on the person instead of on the artist Picasso.
