  • This is a beautiful Basilica and well worth seeking it out for a brief visit. Just make sure it is open as they have limited hours. I believe 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  more »
  • Beautiful basilica, but they charge you to pray. Many churches ask for donations, and thay is understandable, but I do not like and "admission charge" persay.  more »
  • The crypt is magnificent and startling, the Heavenly Tower breathtaking. This is the jewel of the city. At only €2 for a guided tour, there is no excuse not to visit. There are no tours when the churc...  more »

  • I visited this place after seeing it on Atlas Obscura. This place is apparently not well known but it is worth the visit. The church itself is good but do not miss the crypt and heavenly tower. The guided tour is very cheap (optional 2 euro donation).
  • This place adds a whole new meaning to the word amazing, it is baroque grandure at it bizarre best. From the skeletal crypt to the heavenly tower, it is full of beautifully illustrated sculpture. This is a hidden gem that is unmissable for a a baroque lover. The guided tour was delivered with proud and informative passion. The 10 minute walk from the centre is well worth it, only open 10-13pm
  • It is not a church, it is a "Real Sanctuary Parish and Basilica of Santa Maria de la Victoria". Place with great history and is also the great unknown jewel Malaga. Few people know that it houses one of the most horrific Crypts of the world and also the dressing room (say the experts in art and history) more impressive and beautiful there. But people never imagine such wonders inside because leave themselves carried away by the austere external appearance. Never judge a place by its outward appearance and in this case with more reason. Visits to the crypt and the dressing room be available Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00. It is great visit to Malaga together with the Cathedral and the great Arab fortress.

  • Beautiful temple whose origins extend to worship the Virgen de la Victoria in the 15th century, although the present building dates from the 17TH. It is attached to the convent of the order minimum. Pope Benedicto XVI (2007) was who granted the title of minor Basilica to the Real Santuario de la Victoria.

Where to stay in Malaga

For a chance to experience the heart of the city center, you will want to stay in the area surrounding Calle Larios and Alameda Principal. This constitutes the commercial shopping district of the city and is a convenient walk to the city's main attractions and beaches. Another option is the historical city center, where an array of lively tapas bars and shops intermix with the dramatic Gothic architecture. For a true beach vacation, choose to stay in one of the hotels lining the city beach where you can soak up views of the beautiful Costa Dorada away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
