  • Madrid Zoo disappointed us! Unfortunately the price for the entrance as for us is definitely too high. Demonstrations very short. The Zoo itself is not too large we have gone all in 2.5 hours. We were in November and all the bars and restaurants were closed except for one right at the entrance. Maybe because of the autumn park looked slightly neglected. In general, the Madrid Zoo is not in any way matched by amusement (zoo) in Tenerife. Unfortunately, it is only priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. During this time we were able to make this attraction very much.

  • Visited the zoo due to wanting to see the pandas and dolphins, which are worth visiting for alone. The zoo is a decent size and takes about 4/5 hours to go around. The bird displays are fantastic and ...  more »

  • Excellent visit. The best zoo we have visited. The giant pandas were great. All the animals were active and well looked after. Very clean and lay out design good for getting some shade when needed, and good viewing areas so you feel you are close to the animals. Great for photos & videos. A good day ,out of the hussle of the city!
  • A very nice zoo, not too big but big enough to fill about 4-5 hours. A lot of shows as well as photo moments throughout the day. The habitats are nice and clean, a lot of places to grab a small bite or drink as well. Maybe a little bit overpriced for a zoo but still well worth it. The animals also seem to like to strike a little pose, especially the bears had a great sense of humour :p
  • A must see if you are in Madrid, especially if with kids. One of the best zoos I've visited. The seal, dolphin shows are amazing as are some of the animal exhibits... uniquely rare.
  • Maybe the best zoo in Europe? I've been to quite a few zoos in the past few years, Prague, Budapest, San Diego, London, Dublin, Auckland, Wellington, so I've seen enough good and bad zoos to know if a place is worth going. This place is definitely right up there. I was really impressed with the number and diversity of animals here, with giant pandas, red pandas, orangutans, koalas, three species of turtle, it's a fantastic zoo. Signage is for the most part in English too which is great, so you'll probably walk away learning something new! I didn't observe any stereotypic behaviour throughout the day (compared to say the polar bears in Prague zoo), the animals seemed to be quite relaxed and their environments were really well designed and sufficiently spaced from the public. There's a dolphin show, which I caught the training for and that was pretty nice. There's also a good sized aquarium here, though the building inside is a bit old looking, the tanks were fantastically designed, great variance in fish and coral species. Their central room with turtles and sharks was pretty mesmorising. I went on a Tuesday in September so it was pretty relaxed inside. The food's a bit pricey, but what do you expect, it's a zoo. This is a must go to in Madrid.
  • Small zoo but perfect for a couple of hours of strolling. Loved how the peacocks just wander around. One of the things I learned there is that some animals survive much longer in a zoo and enjoy a better quality of life because of being so well cared for. There's a good variety of creatures from both land and sea. I highly recommend it for whenever the weather is good!
