  • This building is certainly striking and reminds me of similar ones in Times Square or on Piccadilly Circus. It is one of the landmarks along Gran Via and photogenic in its own right though not everyon...  more »
  • Building remarkable for its design. One of the facades most interesting buildings from the Gran Via.

  • Can't imagine the Gran Via, without this singular building, because it is part and parcel of it, one of their icons, an emblem. Since it opened in the Decade of 30, already sheltering then the Capitol cinema, has become a building of reference, which should visit it and enjoy your vision. An essential Madrid.

  • Perfect for staying there if you want to walk around Madrid. Good breakfast, very comfortable rooms and good service.
  • Please see the website description of the hotel's Skylight Room (still online, despite me telling them it is incorrect)... "Located in the hotel's tower, behind the neon sign, is one of Madrid's most exclusive guestrooms. There is no other like it. Located on the hotel's 11th and 12th floor, one with shower and another with whirlpool, its incredible city view with make you feel on top of the world" Now, I booked this hotel based on this description - it was intended as a romatic getaway, so a room with a jacuzzi in the middle of the city seemed perfect. When I got there, I found I was assigned a room that looked broadly similar to the pictures on the website, but with a shower, not a jacuzzi. When I went to query at reception, I was told there were no duplex rooms and the 4 tower rooms had EITHER a jacuzzi or a shower - there was no discount or extra charge for not having or having a jacuzzi. When I tried to explain that isn't what their description said, the woman on reception tried to explain to me in her second language why I was wrong in my first, until I politely reminded her of this fact and that their website had a totally wrong description. She grudgingly agreed, called a manager, found they had no extra capacity, so offered me free breakfast and an hour in their spa...not reasonable compensation at all, but since we wanted to get out and enjoy the city, i stayed in the room. After this shambles, I was even more disappointed to find the state of their "Premium" room - see my attached photos. The room was dirty, with a filthy carpet you wouldn't want to walk on barefoot. The fittings (sockets in ceiling, air vents) were dirty and calling off the wall and the furniture had chips and gouges out of it, and the bathroom was incredibly poorly finished - see the picture of the cement just left by the sink. The curtains didn't close all the way either, and when you are in a room with a giant neon sign outside, that really isn't helpful. For what should have been a delightful weekend in a beautiful city, the problem with this hotel turned into a nightmare, I cannot warn enough against going here. I would like the manager to contact me to discuss some form of compensation.
  • Well, my visit to this hotel was just for a working meeting so I cannot speak about the rooms but I'll say the location cannot be better, in the city center (5min walking to Puerta del Sol) surrounded by lots of shops and places to eat/drink and in one of the most famous streets of Madrid. It looks so new and kind of modern design, charming.
  • 2 stay in 2 weeks and very very different experience... 1st stay : I had to change room 3 times. The bathroom of the first room smelled cigarette like hell, the 2nd room had no table (no big deal unless you have a computer, but still a table is nice), the 3rd room was actually horrible (I prefer not to comment), and finally the 4th room was perfect! #517 if I remember well. If they offer you the room next the roof terrasse, it doesn't even worth to enter! 2nd stay: they gave me one of the suite. Everything was super, except that you have this big metalic frame that holds the Schwepps ad that block the view... The furniture is extremely cheap, the 4 place sofa weight just as much as your kitchen chair; but still okay as I believe that this "suite" is quite cheap anyway. The breakfast is good, classic Spanish with fresh fruits and great stuff.
  • Great location, about as central as you can get, so great views of the city. Nice bar overlooking Plaza de Callao as well. Had a small problem with the air conditioning in the room, but were quickly given a new room.
