  • Its bell tower is a cover of an Arabic minaret testifying to the Muslim presence in Madrid. The Interior preserves interesting pieces starting with the image of Jesus el Pobre. See to understand the history of Madrid

  • This lovely old church is a 10 minute stroll from the san pedro boulevard. Its not always open .I think for reasons of security, but sunday mass is at 12 mid day and we've found it open during the morning for people to pop in. its situatde in a pretty plaza where you can sit and watch the world go buy or have a coffee, tapa, or even a meal.
  • Considered one of the oldest churches of Madrid, inside "the poor", one of the most revered of Madrid is the image of Jesus. Architectural can be seen in the Church the different phases that has passed the Church, joining in her different styles. Highlight your Tower.

  • Considered one of the oldest in the city, it started to be built during the 14th century, the time of which dates its mudejar Tower, 30 metres high; the most characteristic of the temple architectural element. It has undergone numerous reforms. Home to one of the images most venerated by locals: of Jesús the poor, from the end of the 18th century, to the capital Holy Thursday procession. The entrance to the Church is free. Opening during the summer hours are Monday through Thursday and Saturday, from 09.00 to 12.30 and from 18.00 to 21.00; Friday from 07.00 to 21.00 and Sunday, from 09.00 to 12.30

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
