  • The Royal Basilica of our Lady of Atocha is in the southwestern part of the Centre of Madrid close to the Atocha train station. She is one of a total of six basilicas in the city. The basilica was destroyed in the Spanish civil war and rebuilt until 1951. In front of the entrance we have looked at yet a monument. The Church itself is kept rather simple by design. We well liked the area with the figure above the altar and beautiful stained-glass Windows. Otherwise nothing stands out especially, what the visitors from Madrid would necessarily have seen.
