  • The real Iglesia de Santiago stands in the heart of the historic centre of Madrid on the Plaza de Santiago in close proximity to the Royal Palace. Like all churches we visited during our stay, this is very well maintained and no doubt worth a visit. Due to the simple exterior we would have almost passed, are entered then but but short. The Interior is kept generally rather simple, but repeatedly and downright pompous highlights. We liked to be here.

  • Beautiful church dedicated to St. James. Wonderful artwork and one of the most uniquely shaped churches in the city.
  • Place of departure of the Sanriaguistas roads from Madrid. The canvas of Santiago Matamoros is spectacular. A sober and majestic architecture accompany a multitude of precious artworks. There is much activity parish, if you want to visit to look at before the schedules of masses.

  • In this church they deliver you the Pilgrim's credential for the camino de Santiago. It is located in Plaza de Santiago and close to the Cathedral, close to 20hs and opens at 10 am. Also recommend to go to eat at the bar which is opposite the Church called "The Cani cat", cheap, very rich and you serve very well.
