Landmark Tourist Spot
Admire the grandiosity of Madrid’s Royal Palace from Plaza de Oriente. The plaza consists of three gardens, beautifully landscaped with dozens of plant varieties and lined with limestone statues of the 20 Gothic kings of the early Christian kingdom. Wander through the Baroque-inspired central gardens to see the monument of King Philip IV. Stop at one of the many garden cafes to sit and have coffee while enjoying the impressive backdrop of the palace and gardens. Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.

  • Probably the most beautiful square to walk in Madrid during early morning hours just before it gets too hot or evening hrs once temp cooler. Be prepared for big tourist groups
  • Beautiful square close to Royal Palace and Jardines de Sabatini. Great place to relax for a while and take pictures...
  • Great views and gardens plus a really nice children's park to play in and benches to sit and look. On a nice day it is a great place to walk around or relax.
  • Great view of the Teatro Real, and nice gardens for a short stroll. Tends to be full of tourist groups around mid-day.
  • One of the most famous squares in Madrid, where you will see the Royal Palace, a beautiful neoclassical building with lovely gardens, I advise to go to the Moorish Gardens, just behind it!
