Plaza de Oriente, Madrid

(4.5/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Admire the grandiosity of Madrid’s Royal Palace from Plaza de Oriente. The plaza consists of three gardens, beautifully landscaped with dozens of plant varieties and lined with limestone statues of the 20 Gothic kings of the early Christian kingdom. Wander through the Baroque-inspired central gardens to see the monument of King Philip IV. Stop at one of the many garden cafes to sit and have coffee while enjoying the impressive backdrop of the palace and gardens. • Always full of tourists, but we must not despair. There are a thousand things to do in this enclave, from seeing the Royal Palace or get close to La ALMUDENA. Indeed, front to it if you upload a few steps offers you some pictures great. The sunsets, the gardens, the changing of the Guard real (see schedule) are attractions that you must not miss.

  • Very central, Plaza de Opera cequita. Essential to give a spin if you visit the Centre. In summer make occasional shows in the area or the gardens of the Palace. Highly recommended

  • Framed by the Royal Palace, the Royal gardens and the Cathedral de la Almudena, the square heavily guarded and with good gastronomic offer imposes the need for vistarla. At night, with a very light, it is also very attractive.

  • Small park but surrounded my some monumental buildings. I love the statues in this park, they have so much character and emotion.
  • A lot of historical significance with the visit. The audio guide is definitely worth the price. No photos in a lot of the tour though.
  • On one side is the Teatro REal opera house. On the other you will find the Royal Palace and its gardens. The Solemn Changing of the Guard takes place the first Wednesday of every month at 12 noon (exce`t during the summer and when there are official events).
  • The most beautiful square in Madrid surrounded by astonishing classical buildings and classy and stilish cafes a place to enjoy a cocktail in the evening
  • Plaza de Oriente is a square in the historic centre of Madrid, Spain. It is located between some important landmarks in Madrid, on the west is the Royal Palace, on the east is the Royal Theatre, and to the north is the Royal Monastery of the Incarnation. It presents a nice example of the Spanish architecture, and a good place for clicking some really nice pictures. There is a park too, where you can rest.
