Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.

  • There is little to see at the Plaza de las Descalzas except the Monastery of the Descalzas Reales. There are no other important buildings in this plaza.  more »
  • 1, was several times guided limit 1 20 times. Morning English Guide is the No. 1 after Spain and Italy Guide I think. We couldn't but Spain Guide. In many large stairs frescos and each nuns pray and Royals officials were in the adornment is also very good. Towards the end of tapestry room was extraordinary.

  • A square without more, qie is located on a parking lot, does not have any private interest... except the old monastery which gave its name to the aforementioned plaza.

  • Access is not bad and the squares of all, but reeks of pissss is super dirty, largely of the feet stick to the ground and only think that tells me nose gave to what I was beating me arcades. Once in the morning and in the afternoon we went thought that perhaps had been bad luck and as it was to the side of where it had to go we try luck again and it was equal, disgusting.

  • 45 minutes 2 euros, taking into account the location isn't bad. Spacious seats.
