  • Squares with flavour of Madrid who have decided to restore and modernize, and load any historical hint of it. Be a jewel with environment to a site of aso. Because it is located next to the Plaza de Oriente, the streets and Arenal, etc. If not, totally dispensable, except for its metro station, knot of communications.

  • This square is popularly known among locals as the plaza de Opera. Not be if due to the proximity of this building (one of the two facades overlooking the square) or that the metro station is called Opera but is as well as it is known. The square has never earned, in my opinion, a great thing but give it last reform has become a large surface of granite. The only good thing is metro station adapted to disabled people by placing an elevator on its surface.

  • Located in the middle of the town, at shoulder of Plaza de Oriente, faces the Teatro Real. It can be reached easily by metro stop Opera. There is a bronze statue of Queen Isabella II, daughter of Ferdinand VII If this review did you like, you can read my other reviews of Madrid (and others) and I'm glad a click on: is it useful? Thanks:)

  • Interesting place to visit in the Centre of Madrid. Within the metro operates, which is in the same square you can visit the Museum of the Caños del Peral and is interesting to visit.

  • One of the meeting points of the locals, especially since the pedestrianisation of the Arenal Street.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
