Plaza Colon, Madrid

3.1
#209 of 1,347 in Things to do in Madrid
Plaza Colon commemorates the explorer Christopher Columbus and his voyage to the Americas. Spend time admiring the monuments dedicated to the traveler. There is a statue of Columbus, a large fountain, and a large modern concrete sculpture decorated with quotes by philosophers and noted Spaniards. Stroll through the plaza’s gardens and stop to watch the world go by. Take a photo in front of the massive Spanish flag for a great memento of your trip. • Because you have to call it somehow. It has small details, as the input to the Fernan Gomez Theatre, which means they have shattered, and a paved space which is called plaza and where do exhibitions. As the greater part of it is a fountain that serves Rotunda and to redirect the traffic, therefore how square is used very little, because it is a solanera. Reform Peña.

  • If you want to put moreno in Madrid one of the perfect places is the plaza de Colón. It is an authentic solarium if you have to cross because there are no trees in the Centre due to the parking under it. Since they removed the turf that had (by the humidity generated to the parking), I still believe that it has become a sandy area without charm. So much so that before I had children playing and since then have disappeared.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
