Parroquia De Nuestra Señora Del Carmen Y San Luis, Madrid

4.3
Just minutes away from Puerta del Sol, the 17th-century Parroquia De Nuestra Señora Del Carmen Y San Luis is the only surviving part of the Carmelite convent that once stood here. The building in the center of Madrid combines architectural simplicity with extravagant Baroque frescoes, statues, and ornaments. While the exterior is quite unassuming, on the inside you can admire the works of some of Spain's most celebrated Baroque painters, such as Juan Sanchez Barba and Antonio de Pereda. This Baroque church loved above all for its intimate atmosphere inside. Bella the main door and the side while inside to report not so much the altar but the side chapels. Popular church, attention to the schedule of masses.

A beautiful church with a cosy interior... which would highlight the very beautiful images of the Virgin of Carmen with the child Jesus in his arms and the Christ lying:

The Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and San Luis Obispo is an architectural marvel of Baroque art. Both the exterior and the interior are very interesting. Highlights inside, wrought iron balconies and boxes. Also, a sculpture of Christ lying.

  • One of the traditional churches of Madrid, the rites and celebrations very outdated and traditionalist both by age and manner of preaching of priests, and by the age of the audience that attends masses. Candles that can be put to the Virgen del Carmen, make sure the interior is blackened and looking more aging.
