Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and San Luis, Madrid

4.2
Just minutes away from Puerta del Sol, the 17th-century Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and San Luis is the only surviving part of the Carmelite convent that once stood here. The building in the center of Madrid combines architectural simplicity with extravagant Baroque frescoes, statues, and ornaments. While the exterior is quite unassuming, on the inside you can admire the works of some of Spain's most celebrated Baroque painters, such as Juan Sanchez Barba and Antonio de Pereda. • This Baroque church loved above all for its intimate atmosphere inside. Bella the main door and the side while inside to report not so much the altar but the side chapels. Popular church, attention to the schedule of masses.

  • The Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and San Luis Obispo is an architectural marvel of Baroque art. Both the exterior and the interior are very interesting. Highlights inside, wrought iron balconies and boxes. Also, a sculpture of Christ lying.

  • Beautiful interior, in a very good state.
  • Beautiful old style church with amazing paintings and awe inspiring statues!
  • It is a really beautiful parish in which you feel very good and comfortable, but it seems in bad taste that will close the parish the day of the Virgin, because on top it is the day of the Virgen del Carmen and assumes that it should be open throughout the day to be able to take you f Lords.

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
