Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.

  • It is a place worth seeing, both the old part (with pictures of great value and artistic objects), such as the modern. I have to say that I ate in the restaurant because the visit I did with a friend who works there, and it is very good and cheap. You cannot enter any, that is true. They do tours, only you have to apply it. They are free of charge.

  • Between Congress and Senate, I prefer the latter. A Palace from the 16th century, with a gallery of large-format in its spectacular interior, the old Chamber full of history and a library that is a delight.

  • The Senate this subdivision in two different buildings, one old belonging to a convent and other contemporary modern building, in which the current Plenary Hall is located. In the old part is a joy to see the former plenary hall where swore the Queen María Cristina, whose ceremony is immortalized in a box attached to this comment. The entire building is priceless, but among the more meaningful it is to visit the splendid library of incunabula of remote times and whose Gothic decoration, shelves and furniture resemble the Harry Potter films. Other places of interest are the current plenary fully in avant-garde style wooden Hall. The Salon perdus where you can see the original oil paintings original of the surrender of Granada and the Jura of the Queen Maria Cristina. In one of the corridors they may contemplate portraits of meanings Senators painted by Hernán Cortés Moreno commemorating XXX anniversary of the elections held in 1977. To visit it is essential to apply it to the Area of visits of the Department of Protocol of the Senate, (915381862) where indicate you day and time for the same combination of other people, to form a suitable group of visit. VISIT BOUND AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
