The last time I visited the Palace of Linares has increased considerably Chambers that can be seen. This allows a better understanding of the building and the life of the high bourgeoisie/aristocracy of the 19th century. For my the most important is the policy recently adopted by the institution to begin to recover the furniture of the building which is coming to the market. So have been able to buy a series of tapestries, furniture and paintings that retrieve the original decoration of the two dining rooms as well as the firm. This not only enriches the whole but it serves a better understanding of the monument. It is commendable because it usually not normal such initiatives in this country. The only problem is that it is only open to visitors on Saturday and Sunday. This is always done with a guide

It is worth going on a theatrical tour of the Palace. The price is somewhat high, €16, but we spent a fun afternoon. In a fun and witty way a series of characters guide you through the rooms telling you the story that lies behind this Palace that took 18 years to build. Highly recommended and for all ages.

It is a different way of knowing the interiors of the Palace of linares, actors, hilarious, enjoyable, everything well organized, the right price, divided us into groups or very large or very small, fun activities, the truth is that I love. I would without any doubt, if I have to put a "but" perhaps a part of the visit where to put original psicofonías and some of the ghostly myth of the Palace is to speak had been feten.

  • This attractive palace with its fascinating history is a living museum and home to the Casa de America (the cultural & business centre of the Americas). If you do not attend one of the events here, the only way to visit it is by guided tour on Saturdays & Sundays. The tour lasts around 50 minutes and is bi-lingual if there are non-Spanish speakers. Worth booking in advance. It's an interesting insight into 19th Century Spanish aristocracy

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
