  • In summer closed the third and fourth floor so visiting stays slightly short has a quite elegant staircase is of sites that outside goes unnoticed

  • Small. Dark. Little display and very uneven in theme or interest. Half of the closed plants "heat", perhaps for this reason the entry is free, although it would be preferable to close it in the summer and avoid trips to the visitors.

  • The museum itself has an interesting permanent collection of 17TH, 18th and 19th centuries. But what I really recommend is to take the guided visit, in our case we had a lady enchanting and very professional, solid knowledge, entertaining and that taught us to look at and admire the most relevant pieces of the collection. I think that it is not just visiting for free, since many details escape unless you have a great knowledge of goods and customs of Spanish society in the concerned centuries. It is a visit without a doubt for adults. Highly recommended.

  • Very interesting museum with reproductions of rooms from the 16th and 17th centuries as well as a unique collection of furnishings and decorations. A great "off the beaten" option for visiting in Madrid in a central, convenient location.
  • They say that Madrid is a city of museums. This us one of them, very interesting 3 story cozy museum that pays off a visit if in the vicinity 5 minutes walk from el Prado.
  • An attractive decorative arts museum, if small. Free if using the annual pass. Certainly worth an hour to gain an appreciation of historical Spanish decorative arts from the 16th century onward.
  • I found it a little boring. The staff follows you very closely. I recommend going to the Serralbo museum instead.
  • Not a well curated museum. There is some nice stuff to see, but not worth the trip if you are short on time.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
