  • It may not have more good things: it's free and very interesting. The truth is that it is not centrally located, because it is in rivers rose, but it is worthwhile and much! I've gone to see it without knowing what I was going to find, and that is to be tooooodo the day. I was an hour and a quarter or a little more, but if you read everything and appreciate it carefully, can be hours. It's great to go with children because they can have great while they learn values and history, mucha, as well as things about nature. And I have heard that there are also free tours for the rest of visitors I think, but low reservation (that look at it well). Without a doubt, one of the best museums in Madrid for my. The building is also beautiful, so it can not have better frame.

  • This museum, which is by Rios Rosas, is one of the great unknown within the amount of elllos that exist in Madrid. It is an impressive building, and he shows some 25 thousand minerals. Although it is a little chaotic and you could get a lot more party, is a great alternative to spend the morning. It has no charge and the people who care for you if you ask them are wonderful. If they already give some budget could be much more visited.

  • It is a small museum with a beautiful 'container', fantastic building, and a wonderful "content", large collection of minerals and fossils.

  • Free and very extensive rock, gemstone and fossils collection. Will take 1-2 hours. Only spanish descriptions and no audio guides. There isn't AC so I would try to go during cooler time of the day (morning). Not busy. Hidden gem (pun intended)!
  • I wish my daughter would have been there! She loves rocks. Every element of the periodic table was represented! The building's architecture was something else!
  • Worth the trek to see the building let alone the gems. Feels like stepping back in time
  • The better geology experience of my life.
  • What a great hidden gem (pun intended) in Madrid.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
