Museo del Jamon, Madrid

3.7
#4 of 109 in Shopping in Madrid
Sample that singular Spanish delicacy, ham, at Museo del Jamon. This Madrid-based chain restaurant serves a vast array of ham dishes to enjoy amongst a bustle of people and a bevy of hams that hang from the ceiling. If you’re not a fan of the restaurant's specialty, try one of the other traditional dishes on the menu, such as paella or a plate of local cheeses. Browse the restaurant’s deli to buy ham, bread, or pastries to take with you. Make your Madrid itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

  • Site typical Madrid to take a cane to a euro or a snack for the same price. On the first floor they have room for dinner and it is broad and less burdensome to be down with so many people. Food is normal.

  • Chain of restaurants in Madrid where you can enjoy a beer at the counter standing at €0.90 with a small plate of salami or fries cips, or sit down at the table with menus from €8.90 first second side dish sweet beer and water. I think it's impossible to come to Madrid and nn switch between them. Recommended 10 +

  • As per its title, the prices are really low, 1 euro for a ham sandwich (really good) and 90 cents for a beer from 20 CL. The restaurant is located in the city centre and is very quaint. I don't recommend the daily menu, all mass and poor quality food. The Council instead of eating at the counter sat on a stool surrounded by haunches of cured ham (obviously an imitation but well done).

  • Ok if you want to eat ham. The rest is really crappy. Ambient, food, staff, price, etc. Wouldn't recommend it.
  • Pecaditos Museo is awesome, had it once inside then again for take away.
  • Great experience, delicious and traditional food, a lot of choice, not fancy at all, very efficient staff, cheap and good.
  • Extremely good value and great for breakfast
  • Good, cheap, & friendly

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
