  • That size not fool you, this small museum free admission will spend a very good time and you'll come out feeling a little more identified with the city of Madrid. Visit requires little time and also all the posters are both in Spanish and in English, so everyone is welcome.

  • Its free to visit. Quite informative. I also liked the playing screens so the visit was a bit more enjoyable. Not too big but still you can spend a good hour there.
  • A very nice museum. Interactive, informative and it is for free. I would recommend it for families as well.
  • Very informative! Admission is free, so it's a nice stop right after visiting the Rastro and grabbing a bite on a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
  • Well worth the time spent. A small but detailed window into the area's history
  • Easy to get to informative. Well presented and mot too many tourists when we visited.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
