History Museum
Set where the Lujanes family's 16th-century palace once stood, Museo de San Isidro explores the rich history of Italy's capital. Learn about the city from prehistoric times up until today through archeological artifacts, models, artworks, and information displays. Original palace features have been incorporated into the complex and reveal more insights into the city's history. You can explore remains of the chapel of Saint Isidro, where Milan's patron saint was thought to have lived and died, and admire several paintings portraying him.   • Its free to visit. Quite informative. I also liked the playing screens so the visit was a bit more enjoyable. Not too big but still you can spend a good hour there.  more »
  • Pretty uninteresting, even for a history buff. Done better elsewhere. On the plus side by coming here you've found yourself in a good area to eat and drink.  more »
  • There has been a new refurbishment finished only two weeks ago. The museum is free and open all day. The exhibits have some excellent interactive displays including an early elephant skull and enormou...  more »

  • Not much to see.
  • Beautiful Museum of the origins of Madrid (also called Museum of San Isidro). Every corner is worthwhile but if you had to choose I would stay with its garden, where through the history of Madrid through its Botany, and store, place in which are stacked neatly countless pieces worthy of being observed
