  • It certainly has a large collection of pre-columbian objects, the majority from areas that form present-day Mexico and Peru, but how they are presented is somewhat problematic. Firstly, explanatory ta...  more »
  • I went to visit this Museum a Thursday morning as had happened many times before and had never encouraged me to visit him. The building is beautiful and in addition the entry is free with the youth card or student. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I left pretty disappointed. It is a pity that a so complete collection is so orderly, explained and contextualized. Be grateful if a chronological order of the rooms which, for example, show life in the pre-Columbian america, the conquest and the subsequent evolution of the colonies and territories, etc. It does not follow a storyline and the visitor sees before a maremagnum of gadgets, clothing, religious items, jewelry, weapons, etc., without rhyme nor are. This fact would be less noticeable if everything were minimally explained, but the panels are conspicuous by their absence. They are scarce and in my opinion nothing attractive (very technical language used and not aroused the interest of the visitor). Seems to me, to give an example, a pity that the graphics of how was the population in various countries in South America a few years after the conquest (in percentages: indigenous population, whites, blacks and mestizos) are not explained anywhere, like so many other graphics, maps, pictures and so on. Also it seemed very strange that plant and animal species that Europeans found upon arrival and then add to our crops (medicinal plants, food, tobacco, etc) should hardly be mentioned. Nor is there any space dedicated to browsers or to the process of conquest, incomprehensibly. A shame that a museum that have all the ingredients to be a marvel and make that the visitor will get fully into the history of the continent is so badly organized. Missing much work to do and I hope that you go slowly improving.

  • We went to see a completed announced expo March 24... too bad it was since March 4. Beautiful Museum, interesting design, beautiful pieces. Missing a place to drink a coffee.

  • Beautiful building and impressive collection. To be honest the collection could be better curated in terms of information and display but I'm being a bit picky on that point. Comfortable with drinking fountains, decent bathrooms and areas where one can sit. Well worth a visit.
  • Has a good collection of pre colloneal items. A knowledge almost lost. Strongly recommended
  • Has a good selection of pre-colombian artifacts. Definitely worth the visit.
  • Cheap ticket, very few people visiting and interesting exhibit; the structure is a bit old and the lightings isn't always placed in the right places.
  • You have to visit that museum folks! Its well organized and very interesting.
