  • The monument began in 1928 with the collaboration of don Pedro Muguruza, the altogether be noted the presence of the two figures in bronze D. Quijote and Sancho Panza, protagonists of the work of Miguel de Cervantes, who are advanced regarding the whole and that have become a topical stamp of Madrid. Worth visiting it in the early hours of the morning or late in the afternoon, as it is a site very frequented by tourists who are keen to ride on the backs of rocinante. This removes charm to the place.

  • This spectacular monument brings to life the plaza de España. Both sides of the monument are amazing, with a water mirror that reflects both statues.  more »
  • It is a monument to Cervantes with their characters Don Quixote and Sancho panza, the picturesque square of Spain a of the most the country's largest and which is surrounded by some very nice buildings as the Tower of Madrid and Spain building. In the surrounding area there are many places to eat, overlooking Gran Via near the Royal Palace.

  • Nice park but the market place takes away the park-like ambiance. Too busy place to have a quite visit.
  • The size of the monument is impressive, even sorrounded by big buildings looks magestic and beautiful with fountains front and back. Don't miss enjoying the park and the fountain near the Gran Via, towards the back of the monument.
  • You can take a photo of the nice architecture here.
  • A very big and nice statue of Cervantes and his two heroes. Impressive and very popular with picture takers. (Difficult to get a picture without a tourist trying to climb up on the horses)
  • Nice monument but the flea market around takes away a bit from it.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
