Madrid Rio, Madrid

(4.5/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Stretch your legs at Madrid Rio, a 10-km (6.2-mi) long park that runs along the banks of the Manzanares River. Set off on one of the many walking and cycling routes, play a round of tennis, or simply laze on the grass. Cool off at the park’s “beach,” where you can bask in a shallow pool or run among streams of water. Children can tire themselves out in one of 17 different play areas. Stroll through the Huerta de la Partida, an orchard restored to its 18th-century splendor, with trees growing almonds, pears, olives, figs, and more. Check what’s going on in the Matadero Madrid, a former slaughterhouse that today hosts a variety of cultural events. There are a number of places to stop for a drink or bite to eat. • The waterfront area was transformed into a zone of active rest. There are places for trips on roller skates, bikes. A great place for walks for the whole family in the heart of the city. Nearby are the Royal Palace, so it is possible to combine a visit to the historical part of the city with active recreation.

  • Madrid downtown opens a green lung that runs through the town, is pedestrian and cycle track stretching for several kilometers along the river Manzanarere, I walked 20 km of cycle paths be careful because many traits are shared to the pedestrian, pay also attention to the graft with some roads with limited traffic but by car, along the way there are references per kilometre and rest areas with refreshments , all the way down, I started the cycle track towards the Centre from the Matadero former slaughterhouses, completely restored. Questsa is something not to be missed when visiting Madrid.

  • It is the park that accompanies the riverbed of the river manzanares, if you walk it from beginning to end are about 5 or 6 km. The best of this park is that it flows through the city, so while you walk them, you know Madrid. You can relax in the grass, picnicking, jogging, skating or cycling, there are gaming sites for children all the way and in addition it is very well taken care, bridges, the gardens and fountains of the place are quite a sight. He would come back over and over again there.

  • I was living here for 5 months during the winter and it was the best time of my life. 20 mins from the center on foot, good bus connectivity with Sol, 3 metro stations nere...and you feel like you are truly surrounded by nature!
  • Amazing park space. Perfect for my runs and strength workouts with public exercise equipment scattered throughout this huge park
  • A great park that runs on the river. Lovely for a stroll or a jog.
  • A great place to escape the city for the afternoon. It's well kept, although bike rides do get very bumpy.
  • An awesome place to spend time. We were there for the celebration of the light. Excellent.
