La Latina, Madrid

4.4
#3 of 11 in Neighborhoods in Madrid
With one of the best collections of tapas bars, it's no wonder La Latina neighborhood vibrates with activity. Reach these tasty spots by exiting the metro and heading down Calle de Toledo and Calle de la Colegiata. On your short walk from the station, you'll see churches in the romantic Gothic style that is a hallmark of the city. After all, this neighborhood is one of the oldest in Madrid. • Next Lavapies are the most picturesque neighbourhoods of Madrid, site of tops, day and night, art in the streets, its Plaza de la Cebada brings together young people who play music fly, share your drink and criteria, you can enter only, but you'll come out with a friend. It always has the theatre of Latin with very good works. In the Cava Baja and Cava high you have dissimilar bars and gambling dens to drink and taste the traditional Spanish cuisine and learn why is so famous, very close to the Centre, you can walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Finally a neighborhood to admire take photos and relax in a walk.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
