Fuente de Neptuno, Madrid
(4.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Fuente de Neptuno is an iconic marble fountain representing Neptune, god of the sea, holding a trident and coiled snake. Walk around the fountain and view the water spouting from the dolphins and other sea animals pulling his chariot, and appreciate the architecture and culture surrounding the sculpture. Finished in 1786, this statue has been used for several political demonstrations, and is also where the victories of Atlético de Madrid Football Club are celebrated. Tip: You don’t need to worry about catching the statue before sunset; some visitors even prefer the lighting of the fountain after dark. Fuente de Neptuno is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Madrid Edition.

  • We are at the Paseo del Prado and going to Plaza de Cibeles meets this beautiful white marble fountain was built between 1780 and 1784 that depicts the God of the sea, Neptune, with a snake and Trident, standing on a float in the shape of a shell pulled by two sea horses with fish tail. It is the fountain choice by the fans of Atlético Madrid to celebrate their victories. Thanks for reading my review. If you like you can give a rating useful from the link below

  • As much as the athletic are not agree, let us remember that in this source celebrate the At.de Madrid fans made headlines, but the most visited, the most photographed and even "unintentionally" is much easier to "stumble" with the fountain of Cibeles, therefore my opinion is that it is the little sister. But that doesn't mean their beauty nor the obligation of seeing her.
