Fuente de Neptuno, Madrid
(4.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Fuente de Neptuno is an iconic marble fountain representing Neptune, god of the sea, holding a trident and coiled snake. Walk around the fountain and view the water spouting from the dolphins and other sea animals pulling his chariot, and appreciate the architecture and culture surrounding the sculpture. Finished in 1786, this statue has been used for several political demonstrations, and is also where the victories of Atlético de Madrid Football Club are celebrated. Tip: You don’t need to worry about catching the statue before sunset; some visitors even prefer the lighting of the fountain after dark. Fuente de Neptuno is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Madrid Edition.

  • It is located in the paseo del Prado, near the Museum. The truth is hard to see because it is in the middle of a roundabout. I consider it just to see it while raisins and not a destination in itself.

  • The more famous of Madrid is the source of the Cibeles, however, the source of Neptune not has nothing that envy to the former. Next to the Prado Museum, this beautiful Fountain rises, do not miss

  • Very close to the fountain of Cibeles, road of the ride of the prado. The fountain represents Neptune, the God of the sea, with a Trident in one hand and a serpent coiled in the other. The fountain was built in the year 1786 by order of King Carlos III. In this source attend the Atletico Madrid fans celebrate the team titles.
