  • Enjoy your environment and do not look for it deliberately because it is not a great source. The best of it is its location. Almost sure you going to find and will not know that you've gone through it. Don't re. The ride gets most the attention. But don't go through withdrawal.

  • There are many fountains in the del Retiro Park. It is part of the larger fountains. It is located close to the northern entrance of the Park.

  • The artichoke is considered as a symbol of fertility, as well as water; currently it does not run this at the monument. Designed by Ventura Rodríguez in the 18th century occupied its place next to primitive puerta de atocha. Disappear in the 19th, it was located at 1880 at this place. The lower with triton and nereid holding the coat of arms of Madrid and the upper with four children that support the artichoke has two bodies. This made in limestone and granite.

  • Beautoful fountain in the middle of retiro park
  • Beautiful Fountain. At its core we can see two Tritons holding the coat of arms of Madrid. It is crowned by an artichoke that gives its name to the source.

Where to stay in Madrid

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
