  • Philip III, known as Philip the pious, was the second King of Spain from 1621 until his death in 1598. The King remained famous for the expulsion of the Moriscos, the descendants of Muslim converts to Christianity, that between 1609 and 1614, at over 300,000, were forced to leave Spain to Tunis or Morocco. The statue is of 1616, Italian sculptor Pietro Tacca, a disciple of Giambologna who began work. Thanks for reading my review. If you like you can give a rating useful from the link below

  • Equestrian statue of the King I command to build the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. Located in the center of the square is a place of reference to stay on the square given its size.

  • Equestrian monument located in the center of one of the best and, to my opinion, the most beautiful and colorful square in Madrid. On the side of the statue out many of the excursions free and guided by the most emblematic monuments of the town.

  • Plaza Mayor, one of the best places to see in Madrid, Gotta love Espana
  • If you are in Madrid you can not go and not see this place. Although there is not so many to see except buildings the statue, the place has its own magic atmosphere, some bars and a lot of street artists.
  • estatua ecuestre de Felipe II ubicada en Plaza Mayor.
